Meet The Doctor

Meet Dr. Daniel Holt

Dan Holt, DC, has been practicing chiropractic care almost 30 years in Juneau – almost as long as he’s been married to Kathy. The two of them, along with their five sons, have all been active with the clinic since the beginning. Outside of the clinic, the doctor and the family are active in the outdoors pursuing anything from fishing and hunting to boating and snowmachining.

“Alaskan” since 1965, Dr. Holt originally lived with his parents in Sitka and Petersburg. He was introduced to Juneau in high school through the Sitka swim team in 1973. An unexpected move took the family to Salem, Oregon in 1974 after his father was shot in the line of duty as a police officer in Sitka. In 1979, Dr. Holt joined the Navy and was stationed in San Diego for four years. Alaska’s allure was strong. After his military service Dr. Holt returned to Alaska for a short stint – this time to one of the furthest islands to the west in the Aleutians, Shemya. From there he attended Ozark Christian College where he received his associate degree in ministry prior to completing his chiropractic prerequisites and degree requirements from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and Doctorate in Chiropractic.

Today, you’ll find the doctor is big on continuing education – refusing to allow his practice to become antiquated. He prefers instead to stay on the leading edge of health care and so offers not only more traditional modes of chiropractic care and massage but also less main stream therapies, such as integrative dry needling, sports physiology, and telehealth, to name a few.

Dr. Holt uses a whole person approach to wellness which means he looks for underlying causes of any disturbance or disruption (which may or may not be causing symptoms at the time) and make whatever interventions and lifestyle adjustments that would optimize the conditions for normal function. This approach is what enables Dr. Holt to consistently accelerate and/or maintain patients’ journeys to good health.
